Blaževci
Geography and accommodation
Blaževci is located in Gorski kotar, about 6 km northwest of Lukovdol in the town of Vrbovsko. It is 190 m above sea level. Pokupsko is a settlement surrounded on one side by the hill Radočaj, and on the other by the river Kupa, which separates it from the neighbouring state of Slovenia. There is also a small border crossing connecting the two states. Due to the proximity of the border, the local population is often related to neighboring Slovenia. Nearby are Orlove stijene, the protected landscape of Kamačnik, Zeleni vir and Vražji prolaz, and the proximity of the national parks Plitvice Lakes and Risnjak as well as the Source of the Kupa.
Population
According to the last census in 2001. g. 38 inhabitants lived in Blaževci, and 105 with the nearby hamlets of Štefanci, Zapeća and Plemenitaša. Blaževci used to have over 200 inhabitants.
Economy
In Blaževci, a sawmill that employs about 15 people has been successfully operating for many years.
Tourism is somewhat developed; the place is visited in summer by tourists, excursionists, weekenders and swimmers. Several houses are used as accommodation facilities. Boating is possible on the Kupa – rafting.
Sights
In the village is the chapel of St. Ivana, and the church of St. Anthony from 1753. It is located in the neighboring Plemenitaš and is also the seat of the parish founded in 1807. year.
In the nearby town of Zapeć there is a state station for the water level of the river Kupa.
